PSA for Gundam Fans: The Gundamn Metaverse on AWS is live and it’s pretty epic

Hey Gundam fans, we’ve got something cool to share! Bandai Namco just launched the Gundam Metaverse, and it’s open right now until May 19. You can now explore a full-on digital Gundam world, streamable from your PC or phone, no fancy gaming rig needed.

Powered by Amazon GameLift Streams (shoutout to AWS for the cloud magic), this metaverse lets you:

▪️Hang out in a 3D virtual Gundam hub

    ▪️Play mini-games using your own user-generated Gunpla

    ▪️Attend virtual live events

▪️Shop exclusive merch including real-world items you can buy directly from inside the metaverse

If you’re in the U.S., you can even grab up to 29 physical items (like model kits!) through Amazon Anywhere, meaning you can literally click on merch in-game and have it shipped to your doorstep. No tab-switching, just instant gratification.

And don’t worry about lag — it’s designed for low latency, so the experience feels smooth even if you’re halfway across the world. Language support includes English, Japanese, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese, making it super accessible for a global fanbase. Over 20 countries have already joined in.

A bit of geeky backend trivia (because I know some of you are into that): Bandai Namco used AWS to set up a scalable, cloud-based dev environment integrated with Unreal Engine, real-time translation, CI/CD pipelines, and even Amazon Bedrock for generative AI tools they plan to use in the future. TL;DR — it’s built for speed, security, and future-ready fan service.

So yeah, it’s a full-blown, cloud-powered celebration of all things Gundam. But it’s only live until May 19, so if you want to explore, head to gmpj.bn-ent.net/en before it powers down.
