Technology company Google is rolling out Search Live globally, bringing its (artificial intelligence) AI-powered, real-time search experience to users in more than 200 countries and territories where AI Mode is available.

The expansion enables interactive conversations with Search using both voice and camera, moving beyond traditional typed queries. Powered by the new Gemini 3.1 Flash Live model, the feature delivers more natural responses and supports multiple languages, allowing users to speak in their preferred language and receive contextual answers instantly.

Search Live is designed for situations where typing is impractical, such as when users need hands-free assistance or quick guidance. Users can access the feature through the Google app on Android or iOS by tapping the Live icon under the search bar, then asking questions out loud and continuing the exchange with follow-up queries.

The experience also integrates visual input through the camera. By pointing their device at an object or task, such as assembling furniture or troubleshooting a device, users can receive step-by-step guidance along with relevant web links. The feature works alongside Google Lens, allowing users to initiate a live, back-and-forth interaction directly from the Lens interface.

The global rollout begins the shift in how people access information, from static keyword searches to dynamic, multimodal interactions that combine voice, visuals, and web data. Google said the update is part of its strategy to make Search more intuitive and responsive for everyday tasks, learning, and exploration.
