In today’s digital age, businesses, institutions, and governments face a world of opportunities but also constant threats from cyberattacks. These silent, ever-present dangers can strike without warning, disrupting progress and undermining trust that took years to build.

“Whether you’re running a startup, a global corporation, or a government agency, the question isn’t if you’ll be targeted, but when,” says Alex Bernardino, ePLDT’s Chief Cybersecurity Evangelist. ePLDT is the digital arm of PLDT, providing businesses with tailor-made cybersecurity solutions. His message isn’t meant to incite fear but to emphasize the urgency of action. Being proactive about cybersecurity, he argues, is no longer optional—it’s a necessity.

    Tackling Cybersecurity Head-On

“When it comes to cybersecurity, one-size-fits-all solutions simply don’t work,” Bernardino explains. Cybercriminals are evolving, and many are now using advanced techniques, including AI, to breach defenses. These sophisticated attacks require equally adaptive security measures.

One of ePLDT’s financial clients, Bernardino recalls, was just weeks away from implementing a cyber resilience plan when they were hit by an attack. Although ePLDT was able to respond quickly, the incident highlighted the importance of preparation. Having the right defenses in place before a breach, he insists, is critical to avoiding catastrophic damage.

For companies unsure of their current vulnerabilities, ePLDT offers a Free Security Posture Assessment as a starting point. From there, businesses can opt for more advanced services like risk compliance, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and more. They can even outsource critical functions such as threat intelligence and incident response to ePLDT, allowing them to stay focused on their growth.

    Cybersecurity Solutions for Every Industry

From banking to retail, healthcare to government, ePLDT offers sector-specific solutions to tackle the unique cybersecurity challenges each industry faces. Their Managed Security Services provide 24/7 protection, while solutions like DDoS mitigation and cloud security ensure that operations remain uninterrupted during an attack.

ePLDT also leverages its partnerships with tech giants like Microsoft, Google, and Palo Alto, integrating cutting-edge tools and capabilities into their solutions. This collaboration helps deliver tailored security that can adapt to the evolving landscape of cyber threats.

    The Human Element of Cybersecurity

Beyond technology, ePLDT recognizes that cybersecurity is about people. Their team works closely with clients, offering personalized threat intelligence, compliance assistance, and ongoing support to ensure that businesses are protected at every step.

“There’s no such thing as 100% security,” Bernardino admits, “but with the right expertise and tools, you can minimize the risks and focus on your future with confidence.”

In a world where cyber threats are increasingly complex, making cybersecurity a top priority is essential. With ePLDT’s managed services, businesses can stay secure, grow with peace of mind, and thrive in today’s digital world.
