    Stephen Cheng’s winning playbook

Stephen Cheng is a man about town. A figurehead in consumer tech with strong marketing agency roots, he’s driven, cordial, and sets challenging yet realistic expectations for the people in his immediate circle.

In short, a man of HONOR, literally and figuratively.

As Vice President of HONOR Philippines, Stephen leads one of the fastest-growing smartphone brands in the country. But beneath the sleek campaigns and sold-out launches is a marketer, entrepreneur, and family man who lives by the values of consistency, creativity, and care. He’s not one to sugarcoat the grind either. “Running a business is never easy. Nothing truly worthwhile ever is,” he tells us. “Complacency has no place in this game; you have to keep that fire burning, that hunger to win.”

That hunger shows in HONOR’s marketing strategy. Bold, witty, and viral in all the right ways. Stephen credits the brand’s success to a fully in-house team that works with the precision and speed of a top-tier agency. “We take pride in doing everything in-house,” he says. “It’s like having a full-service agency within the company. Every member brings expertise, creativity, and strategic thinking to the table. Beyond efficiency, it also means greater control over quality and messaging.”

Winning line up: HONOR Philippines team Brand Marketing Manager Joepy Libo-on, VP of HONOR Philippines Stephen Cheng, Content Lead Eason de Guzman, and PR Manager Pao Oga.

He goes on to name his powerhouse team, a ragtag mix of industry luminaries from the public relations and consumer electronics industries: PR Manager Pao Oga, Brand Marketing Manager Joepy Libo-on, Digital Marketing Manager and Content Lead Eason De Guzman, and Creatives Manager Anthony Ventigan. Together, they’ve built an ecosystem that moves fast, because in this industry, as Stephen puts it, “no one remembers who came second.”

But beyond the wins and numbers, what sets Stephen apart is his philosophy on purpose and progress. He sees technology not as a race but as a reflection of empathy. In the race of innovations with artificial intelligence, “AI should be our North Star. A guide, not a way of life,” he says. “At HONOR, we develop technology with empathy and care for one another. That’s the true value of humanity.”

Driven yet grounded, competitive yet compassionate. Stephen Cheng is more than just a tech executive. He’s a man of Honor in every sense of the word.
