A coworking space for tech nerds exists in BGC

It’s like an IKEA but for wireless office solutions.

As coworking spaces experience challenges in the past decade, there seems to be a silver lining with newer business models in shared office spaces.

Sherwin de la Cruz, Managing Director and Founder of AXON Group.

I met Sherwin de la Cruz a lifetime ago when he was still involved in the media business. Before the dawn of streaming he used to rent out DVD subscriptions with Samsung media players. Today he’s well past that, renting out coworking spaces instead as the Managing Director and Founder of Axon Group, the entity behind Quad.

Quad is more than just a coworking space. As a gadget nerd it looks more like an IKEA technology showcase, almost like every room is designed to show off different tech pairings from wide angle cameras from Logitech and Jabra, to wireless plug and play displays that can get your presentation hooked in seconds without compatibility issues.

The space houses a myriad of co-working facilities, from single work cubicles that look more like coffee shops than cubicles, to meeting rooms that look more like living rooms with bar carts, and a modular events hall that can be rented out for company gatherings and product launches. Space rentals vary from subscriptions to daily rates, with the option to “hot desk” meaning renting out an exclusive seat for the whole day versus a day pass where you can sit anywhere.

Located at the heart of BGC, Quad aims to be the future of portable work, of being able to bring just your laptop, plug it into a USB dongle, and be connected instantly to a conference-style setup.
