Following the success of the Philippine Blockchain Week in 2022 and 2023, the organizers of Philippine Blockchain Week have announced the launch of PBWx, a dynamic series of blockchain events designed to strengthen the Philippine blockchain landscape.  Taking inspiration from the renowned TEDx talks, PBWx aims to bring transformative conversations to the local communities around the Philippines by uniting industry leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts and facilitating world-class learning sessions with local and global industry experts.

PBWx 2024 roadshow series kicks off in Davao City on July 29-30, with follow up events every month thereafter in Bacolod, Bataan and Manila

Donald Lim, Blockchain Council of the Philippines (BCP) founding president and lead convener of Philippine Blockchain Week, has expressed optimism in the growth and potential of blockchain technology in the Philippines.

“Our mission is clear: to position the Philippines as a blockchain powerhouse in Southeast Asia. We are expanding beyond the nation’s capital, fostering the growth and development of web3 communities across the country,” said Lim.

This ambitious vision is supported by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) as well as local government units of the partnered cities.

“The Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) represents a strong collaboration between the DICT and Blockchain Council of the Philippines to foster innovation and digital transformation in the Philippines,” said Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, DICT Undersecretary for ICT Industry Development.   “Our partnership is a significant step towards building a secure, transparent, and efficient digital ecosystem,” she added.

The series kicks off in Davao City on July 29-30 at Arcadia Event Center and is entitled Chain React: Igniting a Digital Revolution in the Philippines.  With the added backing of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCCI), and the Davao City Investment and Promotions Center (DCIPC), the event promises to be a groundbreaking occasion for Davao and the rest of the southern region, setting the stage for an inspiring journey across the rest of the country.

While plans for the flagship Philippine Blockchain Week are underway for the first quarter of 2025, dates have also been announced for the rest of the PBWx series as follows:

    • August 23-24 – PBWx Bacolod
    • September 26-27 – PBWx Bataan
    • October 10-11- PBWx Manila
