HP Philippines and the Department of Informationa and Communications Technology (DICT) have teamed up to promote artificial intelligence adoption in the Philippines, with a focus on inclusive access and digital upskilling.

The initiative was highlighted during the Frontier Tech Trends webinar, “Artificial Intelligence in the Workspace,” organized by DICT as part of National ICT Month.

“It’s about making sure we all grow and adapt together—wala tayong iwanan. The spirit of bayanihan lives on in the digital age. It means helping each other understand, adapt, and thrive,” Emmy Lou Versoza-Delfin, Director of DICT’s ICT Industry Development Bureau (IIDB) said in a press release.

Moreover, HP Philippines Managing Director Ida Evina Ong-Co stated that the company aims to support digital equity through its AI-related efforts.

“We’re delivering technology that is not just powerful, but also secure, accessible, and ready to help every worker and student thrive in a new era of work, and build a more prosperous and equitable nation,” Ong-Co said.

In the discussion, HP’s Work Relationsip Index report showed that 76% of knowledge workers in the Philippines believe AI will make their jobs easier, while 75% think it will make their work more interesting.

Globally, the study highlights a strong link between healthy work relationships and AI integration, with employees more likely to view AI positively when they feel heard, valued, and supported by their organizations.

HP Artificial Intelligence Consultant Idris Murat Atakli also introduced the company’s AI Companion, an in-device productivity tool available on select HP AI PCs.

Prior to this initiative, HP Philippines has partnered with DICT on digital inclusion efforts in the Philippines, including donating over 400 printers to support remote learning during the pandemic.
