Playing mobile games requires a different set of skills. Unlike playing on a PC or console, you only have a small display and on-screen buttons that require precision to control. Equally impressive is how tech brands have been innovating the mobile gaming experience through processor upgrades, improved frame rates, and seamless controls.

So, when we got the chance to try out the new Infinix GT 30 Pro, its All-Day 120FPS System and GT Trigger piqued our interest. Said to put gamers on a “Win Streak Mode,” it’s an esports-level gaming phone that can bring out the best in casuals and professional gamers alike with peak all-day frame rates and performance power.

The Infinix GT 30 Pro is also officially the next MPL Philippines tournament phone. Likewise, members of professional Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) team Aurora Gaming gave their seal of approval, and are ready to use the phone in their upcoming matches.

Given that the Infinix GT 30 Pro already received high marks from some of the country’s best esports athletes, we gave the new gaming phone a shot.

Putting the All-Day 120FPS System and GT Trigger to the test

The Infinix GT 30 Pro is designed to withstand many graphics-intensive mobile games, such as MLBB, Call of Duty Mobile (CODM), Honor of Kings (HOK), and PUBG Mobile, to name a few. On a regular device, the frame rate could drop when there are too many things happening all at once, like multiple abilities and skill shots flying across the screen, and detailed map elements.

This didn’t seem to be the case with the Infinix GT 30 Pro when we played a few rounds. Its All-Day 120FPS System made sure that frame rates were consistent and that there were zero lags even in the most intense matches. Character movements were smooth and we were able to make precise actions when attacking opponents. The 144Hz AMOLED screen also delivered crisp visuals that further sucked us in the games’ environments.

Aside from the high refresh rate, the Infinix GT 30 Pro also boasts of a powerful performance courtesy of its Mediatek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate 5.5G processor. Games feel smoother to play, and the phone doesn’t slow even when there are multiple apps open in the background.

What truly sets the Infinix GT 30 Pro apart is its GT Trigger, a pair of capacitive shoulder buttons for the true console-level experience. These can be mapped out to control certain in-game actions with just a few taps. We tried using it on skills and going back to base in MLBB, and it worked seamlessly. It was the same when we assigned it for CODM’s projectiles and scopes.

For non-gamers, the GT Trigger can still be used for everyday smartphone tasks. We mapped it into a “Home” button, camera trigger, and screenshot button – all of them proving just how responsive the GT Trigger was.

A Gaming Kit that lets you play longer

The Infinix GT 30 Pro also comes with a Gaming Kit consisting of a MagCharge Cooler and MagCase. The MagCharge Cooler is a wireless charging device with a built-in cooler, designed to charge the phone quickly while keeping it cool.

After spending hours on different games, the wireless charger gave the Infinix GT 30 Pro enough energy in mere minutes. For hardcore gamers and pros, this is a plus because they’ll have more time to grind without worrying about their phone overheating.

Is the Infinix GT 30 Pro really pro-level?

The Infinix GT 30 Pro definitely lives up to the hype. No matter how crazy games would be, the All-Day 120FPS System didn’t falter. We could see how this could bring win streaks to players of every skill level. The GT Trigger is also a great addition to give players more options to customize their gameplay, however they want. We can’t wait to see how it will perform during the upcoming MPL Philippines tournaments.

The Infinix GT 30 Pro will be available in colorways Shadow Ash, Blade White, and Dark Flare. Check out the full price list below:
